Hawk Steel is looking for a full-time welder to join our team. We are a family owned scrap recycling company, looking for someone with a welding background who is reliable, self-motivated and a team player.
Responsibilities:
Lays out, fits and weld fabricated parts, castings, and forged components that join metal component products
Selects equipment, plans layout, assembly and welding of components while applying knowledge of welding techniques
Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding
Sets up equipment and welds parts using established techniques which conform to customer specifications and quality standards
May specialize in using one or more welding processes
Works in a safe and conscientious manner
Skills:
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans
Ability to use mathematics to solve problems pertaining to welding functions
Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed
Ability to convey information effectively so the job can be completed in a timely and efficient manner
HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
We are seeking a full-time heavy equipment operator who will safely and efficiently operate the equipment used at HAWK STEEL INDUSTRIES.
Responsibilities:
Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures
Perform daily safety and maintenance inspections – Communicate repair needs to Supervisor.
Operating equipment under various work conditions
Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations and follows the Repair Procedures
Ability to meet attendance schedule in a dependable and consistent manner
Displaying a safety-first mindset at all times
Willingness to learn and tackle new challenges
Demonstrating dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
Works well with team members or independently
Ensure Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all time
Skills:
Ability to operate heavy equipment within company safety policies and procedures
Ability to operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights such as loaders, cranes, forklifts, etc.

TRUCK DRIVER
Hawk Steel is seeking a full-time, local driver to assist with scrap metal collection services to ensure that metals are collected and transported in an appropriate manner. The truck driver position is responsible for collection services in order to ensure that our customers’ expectations are met by transporting various materials back to our recycling facilities.
Responsibilities:
Operates commercial trucks
Performs required pre-trip and post-trip inspections and provides required reports
Provides outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations
Maintains all required certifications required by DOT
Adheres to all OSHA and company safety programs
Maintains and protects all property
Communicates effectively with management, dispatch and all divisional employees
Skills:
Roll off, Flat Bed, or End Dump experience desired
Good attendance and positive attitude
Being a safe, responsible employee
Ability to learn and understand runs
Learn and use E logs for tracking
Communication with dispatch
Respectful and professional communication to customers
Know, understand, and follow company policy
Requirements:
Have a valid CDL Class A driver’s license

MECHANIC
Come join our family. Hawk Steel Industries has an immediate opening for a full-time mechanic. Applicants should be mechanically inclined and have a knowledge of engine repairs, heavy equipment, and Hydraulics.
Responsibilities:
Day-to-day maintenance on stationary equipment, conveyors, and heavy equipment vehicles
Performing all aspects of diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repairs
Assists senior mechanics
Ability to repair and maintain mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, conveyor systems, production machines, and equipment
Organized attention to detail
Ability to identify repairs that need to be made to equipment
Document troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and repair activities
Communicate and coordinate tasks with Management
Perform preventative maintenance such as changing oil, gear lubes, brake repair/replacement and clutch repair/replacement
Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs
Conducts safety checks on vehicles
Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures

YARD WORKER
Hawk Steel Industries has an immediate opening for a Yard Worker responsible for the general maintenance, organization, and inventory of materials of the construction yard located at our main office.
Responsibilities:
Keep yard clean and organized
Operating power equipment such as mowers, line trimmers, chainsaws etc.
Raking, weeding, hauling debris, pruning and application of lawn amendments
Maintaining a clean work environment, taking the initiative to pick up and know how our yard should be kept
Understanding the purpose of different types of materials, and the positioning and lay out of the yard
Unloading, receiving and taking inventory of scheduled deliveries, as well as materials brought back on truck from job site clean ups.
Conducting a weekly inventory of yard items being stocked to insure correct material levels and which items need to be reordered.
Monitoring construction debris trash
Refueling and re-greasing equipment at the end of each day to insure proper upkeep and longevity
Clean and repair yard equipment, vehicles and yard property & structures as needed
Helping and assisting customers and contractors
Clean or prepare job site to eliminate possible hazards
Control traffic passing near, in, or around work zones
Skills:
Use of hand and power tools
Ability to work safely and properly follow all company policies
Ability for sitting, standing, walking, forward bending, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pulling/ pushing and reaching
Ability to be self-directed, with minimal supervision
Self-motivated and can work alone
Must have basic computer skills
